BILOXI, MISS.- Kevin W. Felsher won election to the Mississippi State House of Representatives on November 5, 2019. Upon assuming office, Felsher was appointed as Vice Chairman of Marine Resources by Speaker of the House Phillip Gunn. He was also appointed to the following committees: Corrections, Education, Gaming, Judiciary A, Judiciary En Banc, Tourism, Public Health, Workforce Development, as well as Ports, Harbors, and Airports. In addition to his regular committee assignments, Representative Felsher also serves on the Mississippi Home Corporation Joint Oversight Committee and was appointed to the Gulf Coast Economic Advisory Committee and the Military Interstate Children's Compact State Council by Governor Tate Reeves.

Representative Felsher has worked with his chairmen and fellow legislators on improving the state's mental health system. In 2022 he sponsored HB 732 which will help Mississippi implement the 988 Suicide Prevention Hotline and advocated for funding for the Department of Mental Health and Mississippi’s first mental health diversion center. In addition, he has worked on efforts to start a statewide mental health diversion court and improve the intake process for indigent patients needing mental health treatment.
Since taking office Representative Felsher has been a strong supporter of education having assisted in crafting HB 530, which provided the largest teacher pay raise in Mississippi’s history and having sponsored HB 633, which ensures Mississippi students grades K-12 receive a quality computer science and cyber based education. He has also championed efforts to improve tourism and the economy. He has received an "A" rating on his voting record for business and jobs from B.I.P.E.C. and has received an "A" rating from the MS Association of Police Chiefs.
